We take Halloween seriously at Pacific Staffing. Every year, our team engages in a competitive costume contest. Our clients always love our creativity and the image quality, so we want to bring you behind the scenes.
Every photo is created with a three-light approach. This means we have two lights providing the edge-light for the subject’s shoulders. Then, we have a third light above the subject’s face to light up their expression. Once you have this setup, you can cut the subject out from the background and blend them into a new, colorful environment. This method is called “compositing.”
“Witch of the Bog” (Therese)
Therese created this iconic witch outfit with different shades of green. It was perfect for our Halloween campaign, because we handed out green apples coated with candy. I always love Therese’s commitment to her costume. She’s won several costume campaigns.

“Señora de los Muertos” (Maria)
Maria has a deep connection to her Latin roots. As “Señora de los Muertos,” Maria celebrates the Day of the Dead – a Latin holiday that is customarily celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. Families typically visit gravestones of deceased friends and family on these days to remember and memorialize their loved ones.

“Captain of the Seven Seas” (Connie)
Connie’s swashbuckling costume brought the warm weather to Oregon. With a degree in interior design, Connie is a sure bet for a great costume. Her detail and real sword made this a lively photo.

“Dr. Disrespect” (Jordan)
If you have a video game player at home, they probably know Dr. Disrespect. Dr. Disrespect is a video game streamer on YouTube with a massive audience. Playing video games like Call of Duty, many people enjoy his comedy and energy when playing the popular video game franchise. My nephew loved this costume!

“Defender of the Realm” (Ben)
Ben brought real leather armor and swords, which meant this costume was more like an authentic night. We knew we had to use his movie good looks to create an epic scene. Nothing is better than a knight on a castle wall.
